NBHS had four teams at the Hawke’s Bay Schools’ Team Chess Tournament. We were simply dominant.
The A team was the first team in the history of the tournament to win every individual game. The B team was a clear second. The other two teams tied for third but the luck of the draw denied them their medals. In 32 games against players from other schools, NBHS had 30 wins.
This qualifies the A tam to represent Hawke’s Bay at the NZSS in Palmerston North.
