Week Ahead: Week 4 Term 4
Monday 30th October – Sunday 5th November
Senior Prizegiving
The Senior Prizegiving is Thursday, 02 November starting at 6:30pm in the school Henderson Hall. All Y11 – 13 students are expected to attend. Seating is provided at the rear of the hall for parents & whānau.
Ahead of the prizegiving the Senior Art Exhibition, showcasing recently completed NCEA portfolios, will be held in the Memorial Library. The portfolios reflect the entire year’s work. Please stop by to support and acknowledge the efforts of the boys and staff.
Senior Study Leave & NCEA Examinations
Ahead of the external NCEA examinations, the senior students commence their study leave on Friday, 03 November. Seniors that have clearance have a staggered release from Period 4. Y13s are released at the end of Period 4, Y12s at the end of lunch and Y11s at the end of Period 5. It is critical that your son attends this day. Essential information, including confirmation of entries, is confirmed at this time.
Study leave does not mean that support from subject teachers stops. Your son should liaise with his subject teacher regarding tutorials and support through the study leave period. This can be done via MS Teams or by email.
The NCEA examinations commence Monday 06 and finish Thursday 30 November. The NCEA examinations are onsite, administered by NZQA contracted staff. All examinations are in C Block.
The 2023 National Secondary Examination Timetable can be found here.

Senior and Junior Teams
The NBHS Parents’ Association is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet, creating a wider NBHS community.
The Association organises events to support our school community and supports school events.
The Association is self-funded, those involved can contribute as much or as little as they wish.
If you would like to be involved, please email scook@nbhs.school.nz
If you son has grown out of his current uniform, or, if he if has left the school, the Uniform Shop can sell NBHS uniform on your behalf, for a modest fee, or you can donate his NBHS uniform to the school. All proceeds go back to the Parents Association. These donations support the NBHS Community and fund school events.
If you have used current uniform to sell, please bring this into the school office.
