Important Update – Extra Curricular Activities

From term 2 the new payment system will be directly linked to the digital permission slips on SchoolBridge. This means you’ll be able to make payments and give permission for your son’s activities in one easy step.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our Finance Team at student.accounts@nbhs.school.nz or by phoning 8335902. They’ll be happy to support you through the process. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we implement this improvement.

Super 8 Cultural – Wed 15th – Fri 16th In Rotorua

Next week our young men head to Rotorua to compete in the Super 8 Cultural Competition. We will be competing against the 7 other Central North Island Boys’ Schools in everything from Kapa Haka to Danceand from Art to Theatre Sports. A great cultural experience and opportunity for our young men

Blood Drive – Thursday 15th

We are hosting a blood drive on site. Over 70 of our young men have signed up to donate, and every donation saves lives. Thank you to all who are participating

Pink Shirt Day – Friday 16th

A full school participation and we encourage all students and staff to wear a pink shirt alongside their standard school uniform. A gold coin koha will be gratefully received to help promote this Kaupapa. Standing together against bullying.

Attendance Matters

We are currently undertaking a thorough review of attendance across the school and reinforcing the expectation that all students attend school every day from Monday to Friday. Our own detailed data clearly demonstrates a strong correlation between attendance and achievement. Students with attendance rates above 80% are significantly more likely to achieve their NCEA levels. Therefore, improving overall attendance is a school-wide priority. For further discussion or help regarding your son’s attendance, please reach out to their Dean in the first instance.

NCEA Authenticity Forms

Senior students and all Year 10s have been emailed a link to their NCEA Authenticity form. This is sent to their school email account. Please check that your son has completed this form.

All students undertaking NZQA Standards in 2025 must complete this form.
