A warm welcome back to all our parents, caregivers, and of course, our young men as we kick off another term! We trust you’ve had a restful break and are ready for the term ahead.
Important Reminders for Our Young Men
As we settle into the new term, a friendly reminder about our school expectations:
- Uniform: Please ensure you are wearing the correct school uniform.
- Grooming: All students are expected to be clean-shaven.
- Hair: Hair should be its natural colour.
Term 3: A Focus on Academics and Key Dates
This term brings a significant academic focus as externals are not far away. We encourage all our young men to dedicate themselves to their studies and make the most of every learning opportunity.
Footloose Production: Get Your Tickets if you haven’t already!
The Footloose production in conjunction with Napier Girls’ High School is set to be a spectacular performance! Many hours of hard work and dedication have been put in by our talented students and staff. Make sure you don’t miss out on what promises to be a truly great show!
Important: Construction Updates & Relocated Services
Our school is still undergoing some essential construction, which does mean a few temporary changes to where you’ll find some of our staff and services.
Please note the following important changes for the remainder of the year:
Our main school entrance is currently closed: New locations for
- Reception and Uniform Shop are now located in P6, just around the corner to your left as you head towards what was our main reception entrance.
- Counsellors are now in the Clyde Deans office, entry through the stairwell doors next to the notice board.
- Deans, Student services, Mr Russell and Mrs Taylor are now where the counsellors offices used to be. Entry via the stairwell
- Mr Bundle and Mrs Double are now in the work room at the top of the stairwell next to the Staffroom and Finance Office.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve our Kura. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need assistance finding anyone.

We’re currently reviewing our parent contact information in KAMAR to ensure we have the most accurate details for all our families. Having up to date email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses is crucial for us to communicate effectively with you, especially for important updates, emergencies, and student information.

Weekly Engagement reports
This Friday, caregivers and students will receive the first of our weekly engagement reports. Each week, teachers will rate students on a scale of 1 to 5 based on their classroom engagement, with 1 indicating low engagement and 5 indicating excellent engagement. Once you receive the report, please don’t hesitate to contact your young man’s teacher or dean if you have any questions or concerns.

Our annual Polson Banner exchange is hosted by Palmerston North Boys’ High School this year. If you are involved in this exchange, make sure you get your “Number 1” uniform organised via your coach/manager and the uniform shop THIS WEEK!
