Napier Boys' High School is one of the oldest schools in New Zealand. It has a proud record of academic achievement, sporting prowess, cultural excellence and grounding in traditional values.
We welcome international students as part of our school community and enjoy seeing them develop their language and social skills while they are at the school.
As a traditional boys' school, we place emphasis on academic success.
Our results at all three levels of NCEA (the National Qualifications) are well above the New Zealand mean.
We have a limit of only twenty International students in the school at any one time, this means between five and seven from any one country. We believe that this ensures students are integrated into the school and that their English improves rapidly.
International students also involve themselves in the wide range of sporting and cultural activities offered by the school.
International students may study up to 12 hours of English and ESOL, when they first arrive at school, depending on their English ability. International students are well catered for by our International Dean who also teaches them ESOL in small groups of 2 to 4 students.
Applications are made via the Director of International Students, Mr Tim Cameron, who is in charge of our International students. His email address is: tcameron@nbhs.school.nz. Please contact him directly for an enrolment pack.
